Local Veterans Benefit From MontCo Photo ID Program

In the spring of 2012, Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds, Nancy Becker, decided to implement a program to honor our local veterans. The Veteran Photo ID Discount Program has been an unqualified success. Thousands of our veterans have since gone to the Recorder of Deeds office in Norristown, and recorded their discharge papers. When doing so, they have received several certified copies of their papers and a photo ID card.
By recording their discharge papers and having certified copies available for use, our veterans and their families have found it easier to apply for veterans benefits and arrange for military funeral services. Moreover, several hundred local businesses have decided to join the program by providing discounted services and products to veterans who have their photo IDs.
Kraut Harris, P.C., was one of the first places to offer a service discount to our service men and women, offering a 20% discount on the legal services we provide to veterans who have a photo ID. Founding shareholder, Mark Harris, says that participation in the program is particularly meaningful to him: Mark's son, Aaron, served two tours in Iraq as a Marine. "Of course I'm proud of my son and the service he has provided to our country, and I'm sure he and other veterans are grateful when people acknowledge their service. But our firm's participation in the photo ID program is special to us because we are able to provide a substantive benefit to veterans, a tangible way to demonstrate our thanks."
If you are a veteran and want to enjoy the benefits of the Veteran Photo ID Discount program, or if you want to join Kraut Harris in providing a discount or other benefit to our veterans, just call Nancy Becker and her staff at the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds, at 610-278-3294.
