Ken joined Kraut Harris in 2004 as Special Counsel to the firm. Ken concentrates his practice in the fields of franchise, real estate, corporate and commercial law.
While General Counsel of the world’s second largest transmission franchise, Ken practiced throughout the United States and Canada. During that time, he was also an advisor to the office of the Consumer Advocate of Dade County, Florida, and the Better Business Bureau of the State of Maryland. Ken was appointed the first Chairman of the Franchise Law Committee of the Montgomery Bar Association, and served in that capacity for five years. He was reappointed to that position in 2004.
Ken also serves as Chair of the Montgomery County Attorney/Realtor Liaison Committee. The Committee is comprised of ten attorneys and ten Realtors who explore cutting edge real estate matters in Pennsylvania, and act as mediators and advisors to other Realtors and attorneys in Montgomery County.
From 1984 through 1995, Ken was an instructor of franchise, real estate and business law at The Institute for Paralegal Training in Philadelphia. His articles on the relationship between franchising and real estate leases have been published in Focus Magazine and The Philadelphia Business Journal, and he has appeared on various television programs to discuss real estate, business and franchise law. He is a certified mediator and arbitrator for the Montgomery Bar Association’s Davenport Dispute Resolution Center.
Ken’s practice is augmented by his commitment to community service: He has chaired the American Heart Association’s “Cardiac Arrest” fundraiser in Eastern Montgomery County. He served as Chair of the Diversity Task Force in the Upper Dublin Schools. Ken is President and General Counsel of the Montgomery County Literacy Network and a member of its Executive Board.
Ken, his wife and their two children have been long-time residents of Upper Dublin.
