A founding member of the firm, Dave is a 1969 honors graduate of Penn
State University and a 1973 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania
Law School. After law school, Dave worked at Community Legal Services,
Philadelphia's legal services program for the poor, in the field of
labor and employment law and civil rights. From 1978 through 1981,
Dave was the Chief Regional Civil Rights Attorney for the United
States Department of Education. Since 1981, Dave has been practicing
law in Montgomery County.
As head of the firm’s litigation practice, Dave concentrates in
complex civil litigation involving commercial and business disputes,
construction claims, and labor and employment law. Dave is the co-author
of one of the leading treatises used by litigators in Pennsylvania,
the three volume West's Civil Procedure-Forms and Commentary.
Dave is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court,
various United States District Courts in Pennsylvania and the United
States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He practices regularly
in counties throughout Eastern and Northeastern Pennsylvania. He has
also appeared before courts and arbitration panels on behalf of
clients in other states, including New Jersey, Texas, Massachusetts
and Vermont. He is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and
Montgomery Bar Associations, the American, Pennsylvania and Montgomery
County Trial Lawyers Associations, and the Montgomery American Inn of
Court, an organization dedicated to improving professionalism among
lawyers and judges in Montgomery County.
Active in community affairs, Dave is a former President of the
Germantown Jewish Centre and serves as counsel to the largest consumer
cooperative in the Philadelphia area.
Dave and his wife have three children. He lives in Laverock, Pennsylvania.
