Kenneth P. Milner
Ken is Special Counsel to the firm. Ken concentrates his practice in the fields of franchise, real estate, corporate and commercial law. He chaired the Solo & Small Firm Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and was a Section Delegate to the PBA's House of Delegates. Ken received the PBA's Distinguished Service Award in 2013, and its President's Award in 2015. In 2017, Ken received the PBA Solo & Small Firm Award. The Award is given to an attorney who enhances the public image of solo and small firm attorneys, and who, by sharing his knowledge and skill, helps all Pennsylvania attorneys in their practices.
While General Counsel of the world's second largest transmission franchise, Ken practiced throughout the United States and Canada. During that time, he was also an advisor to the office of the Consumer Advocate of Dade County, Florida, and the Better Business Bureau of the State of Maryland. In 1993, Ken was appointed the first Chair of the Franchise Law Committee of the Montgomery Bar Association, and he has continued to serve as the Committee's Chair or Co-Chair ever since.
Ken also served several years as Chair of the Montgomery County Realtor Attorney Liaison Committee. The Committee is comprised of attorneys, Realtors® and other real estate professionals who explore cutting edge real estate matters in Pennsylvania, and act as mediators and advisors to other Realtors® and attorneys in Montgomery County.
From 1984 through 1995, Ken was an instructor of franchise, real estate and business law at The Institute for Paralegal Training in Philadelphia. His articles on the relationship between franchising and real estate leasing have been published in Focus Magazine and
The Philadelphia Business Journal, and Ken has appeared on various television programs in the region to discuss real estate, business and franchise law. Ken has been a certified mediator and arbitrator for Franchise Arbitration and Mediation Services, as well as the American Arbitration Association. Ken received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law.
Ken's practice is augmented by his commitment to community service: Ken is Past President and General Counsel to the Montgomery County Literacy Network. He also serves as Counsel to the Special Education Advisory Council of Upper Dublin. Ken chaired the American Heart Association's "Cardiac Arrest" program in Eastern Montgomery County, and served as Chair of the Diversity Task Force of the Upper Dublin School District. In 2017, in honor of his commitment to community and charitable causes, Ken received theMontgomery Bar Association's Henry Stuckert Miller Award for Public Service.
Ken and his wife of over forty years, Ruth, have two grown children, and are long-time residents of Upper Dublin Township.
